Default Has Anyone installed a 3 or 5 channel amp

Has Anyone installed a 3 or 5 channel amp to their factory HU? If so do need two PAC wiring harnesses. Im looking to put A 3 channel amp in to my 2012 super crew without sony, to power the front speakers and a single sub and never installed an amp without RCA cables. http://www.ebay.com/itm/XDI803-ARC-A...-/130609408696

Just one PAC and run 2 sets of RCA cables to the amp for input.

Installed a 5 channel alpine, components all the way around with alpine woofers, and didnt use pac, I did use LC6 for preouts to amp to get clean crisp sound all running off factory head, pics to come soon.

I have stock a 2011 fx4 with basic 6 disc setup... Want to get a 5 channel amp plus sub and all new speakers. how do the components sound? Why did you go with the lc6 and no pac?

I want an after market nav but dont want to lose sync so I am not sure what to do about the head unit...

When you use a PAC you keep the "sound" that the factory head unit is programmed for at the factory. The LC6 allows you to clean up that sound before it goes to your new amp.

If you use an aftermarket head unit there is a PAC unit "FRD1" that allows you to keep you SYNC and the SYNC controls on your steering wheel. But you will need the PAC steering wheel control harness for the volume controls on the steering wheel. It is plug and play. That is what I have and it works fine. Then you won't need the LC6 either. I have the aftermarket head unit powering the Kicker in door speakers and it sounds great.

When you use the steering wheel harness and PAC setup how does SYNC interface with the aftermarket HU? ie: does it pause music or just mute it when you initiate SYNC, does it skip music using the steering wheel controls as well, does the SYNC control the music still or just the phone... etc.?

I know it is a lot of ?'s but nobody around here has a new truck nor gives a crap about nice aftermarket equipment so I have nobody to ask or test with...

You need an aux input on your aftermarket. Mine has a RCA red and white on the back. If you hook your aftermarket mute wire to the brown wire on the PAC it will mute the sound. If you don't it will turn off the aftermarket and then turn it on again when you are done with the phone(blue tooth) Not pause it. It changes to the aux input automatically. Your steering wheel phone controls still work. You need to program the volume, preset up/down.
