If you want to go lower, then you'll have to go with a bigger cone or at least put your 8 in a ported enclosure. I used to run 3 jl8w6's and even though they really sounded great, they just wouldn't go as low as my 2 jl10wv4's.

It's more about numbers in a sense, one is sealed and the other is ported. The bazooka can also be corner loaded to produce more low end. In my experience the bazookas blow away the SO.

It sounds like you want small package convenience with large sub enclosure bass.

I agree with you on needing more cone area, if you want to truly go low then an 8 doesn't cut it. 8's are great for quick transient bass but not for truly low frequencies.

Where my opinion diverges is on the part about porting it. Porting gives you more DB at the tuning frequency but below that the roll-off is steeper then a sealed box(24db vs 12db). Now you can tune the box to achieve low frequency response, which is why most people say ported goes lower, but it comes at the expense of very large enclosure sizes. Which in his case is probably not feasible since he says that he needs this to come in and out easily.

What I would do, which is actually what I did, is to do a rear seat lift and get a thin woofer like a JL 13TW5v2 or Alpine SWR-T12 throw it in a sealed box and tune it to a QTC as close to .707 that you can given your size restrictions. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

I'll concede as my experience was in my high school days building the boxes I saw at the audio shops I couldn't afford! Lol

Back then ported seemed to produce more bass and especially when corner loaded.

You sir sound like you have a more firm grasp on the subject than I! Lol

I may actually now get around to going bigger with my little system, the older I get I tell my wife I'm fine with what I have but......

My suggestion would be a sundown sd-2 10 or 12 in a sealed downfiring enclosure under the rear seat. You can use a dean's plug for a quick connect. The boxes don't bolt in so it would be a 20 second install/removal. You just aren't going to get low bass without using a larger sub or multiple smaller subs and a good bit of power. Subwoofers in a vehicle are always a compromise. If you want loud, low bass you have to give up some space

I'll link you to a few when I can get on my laptop and not my phone. If you go on eBay and search "supercrew subwoofer" You will come up with a bunch of options

Please post appropriate links when you get the chance, I've already checked ebay but there's so many options and I have no way to know which ones are reasonable, and which ones are not...
I've heard of fox, but they don't even show a product for a 2013 supercrew. They have plenty for other years, but not for the 2013. There's a link, but no picture.

Something like this with an SD-2 12 and 500w would do it for you

Or this with a 10 and 500w

I'll be putting my Sound Ordnance up for sale shortly. --- Just replaced it with a JL CS110TG-TW3 and Alpine MRV-M500.
