Default Front door panel trimming

Those that have installed 6.5 inch components in front(JL C5-650 for instance), how thick was your baffle and much trimming of the door panel was required? Thanks...

Anyone install Hertz HSk 165? Heard them today and really liked them. I am concerned however that they will not fit without cutting door metal.

Yes they will but require at least a 3/8th inch baffle to clear the window. I used 1/4" abs plastic and a 1/4 spacer ring I made but a solid piece of 1/2" would work fine. Also, I have ran the Hertz Hi Energy mids, high energy XL mids, and Mille mids. If you can go straight for the XL set. Cost a little bit more but they are an amazing speaker set. Will take gobs of power and sound great doing it. Ran two sets in my last vehicle on an Audison LRx 2.9 giving each on around 150rms and I miss it. Name: 44BD55A1-85E9-4216-A419-3514A834189F.jpg

And hertz coax in the rear. 1/4" worked fine for the rear doors. Name: 7746139F-D476-409E-A0F3-08BB2A32EE11.jpg
