There is also another option on the upper display.I noticed today while at work a 2012 Platinum that didn't have a display, only a blank filler panel and the platinum also has the taller bezel like and XL. I had never noticed the height difference between these bezels till i did this install, and i have been in several hundred of the trucks being i work on them.

Wes,here are some pics you requested.
In the pictures i don't have the spacers or screws between the tabs, and really the clips are plenty to hold it in place.

So where is the temp and compass display on the trucks with the higher bezels? I was noticing this last night while doing a google search on the radio bezel.

I was thinking about that myself last nite, and on the platinum i think they are in the nav screen. On the XL,i believe it only has a clock which is in the radio.

Awesome work Regular Cab, I have nearly compiled all my gear to get going! Just deciding if I want to waste money by buying the Sync adapter and get the AppRadio headunit by Pioneer.

It was hard for me to decide till i got this installed, then i found it does EVERYTHING that i used sync for,and dam near has the same voice!I just used the Axxess steering wheel control module only. If you want to keep the heath report that sync will do(i never used) well you'll have to keep sync hooked up.Otherwise you can use voice commands to do everything just the same as sync.

I play all of my music through USB in sync using voice controls, is this capability still intact with the pioneer? I have been looking at getting one of these units but it would be a dealbreaker if I can't control my music with voice commands. You say it does everything that sync does but I just want to be sure this feature is included. Thanks

It is included, only BETTER!! If you use an ipod, buy the optional CD-IU51V ipod cable, and you'll have full voice control over the ipod unlike sync.If you use a usb stick,it does everything sync will do with voice commands. If you want to see exactly what it will do,go to pioneers website and download the owners manual, and it tells exactly what it will do.The owners manual comes on a CD,but is the same as whats on their website.I can tell you i really am glad i went this route.
