actually more for seeing if they are that close. i always feel like people are really close, but they arent really that close. being able to turn on the camera whenever lets me find out how close they really are, lol.

i bet ya these cameras had to of been invented by a guy, ease of view - trucks sit up so high, can't see hunnies out rearview "ding ding ding" i'll put in a camera and look, and oh yeah its good for watching hitch too!
