If you are summing you will not be using the factory amp. If you are using component speakers you would use the supplied crossover. If you are using new 2 way speakers in the door you can choose not to use the factory tweeters at all or run them in parallel off the new door speakers with an in line cap to keep the low notes out of them. Your new amp would have to be able the lower impedance also.

Update. Good thing I gave audiocontrol a shout in regards to the LC7i. Even though it specifies front, rear door and sub signals to the unit they recommended to feed the tweeter, front door and sub factory outs to get the most freq range from the factory amp.

I'll lose my fade front to rear but I can't remember the last time I used it in any vehicle.

The front tweeters are currently still connected to the factory amp. If it gets to bright they will get disconnected or if I need more highs they will be connected in line with the front coax speakers with a cap. Thanks Wyo.

I'd suggest skipping the factory tweeter then. Without doing more research, I wouldn't know what the slope and cutoff in the Sony amp is for the tweeter, let alone what delay/notch filter/eq'ing the've applied. Just adding the oem tweeter with a cap to the coaxials isn't a case of more = better.

Yes I'm concerned of the delay as well. My console isn't completely installed so I can quickly disconnect if need be.

I agree that you should just leave the factory tweeter unhooked. Youll have way too much highs with the extra tweet

No, there is no capacitor on the tweeters because the sony amp and/or headunit has a crossover built in. Wiring them in parallel with your door speakers would most likely require a crossover.

Yes, there is a capacitor installed in line with the tweeter in a-pillar in heat shrink tube. It is approximately 5 inches from the tweeter. At least on my 2012 with Sony 700W with nav.

Good find. The electrical schematics that I have didn't show it.
