Default Factory speakers sound blown

My factory speakers at low volume sound like they are blown. I dont even listen to them loud or anything but they sound distorted. Should I try to get them replaced or just buy quality after market speakers? I dont want another set of whats in there now they sound terrible. If I get aftermarket, would I have to get a amp for them? Or could I just run them off the factory setup?

thanks

Decent 6x8's won't break the bank. Plenty of posters here like Infinity, Boston, et al. I was able to get a pair of Rockford Fosgate Prime 6x8s for $45 (Ebay). Someone on Craigslist (Atlanta) was selling 4 Pioneer 6x8s for $100. In my case, the speaker surrounds were shot.

Same issue on my 2012 with under 2200 miles. I have never turned the stereo up to cause damage. Is there an issue right from the factory? Maybe the prior test drivers had the stereo cranked.
I think Ill just have to swap them too!

Install aftermarkets. With wiring adapter a very easy install and makes a huge difference. Each door takes 20-30 minutes. Buy a high efficiency speaker (> 90db) to power off factory radio. I power Polks of my radio and sounds great.

It won't be worth the downtime to get them fixed,
They are made in china and have a paper cone instead of a real tweeter. Absolutely any thing would be an upgrade.

Two of four in my '12 were bad on delivery three weeks ago. Dealer says replacements are back ordered until 4/30. Very disappointing.

Ask what the cost is. Maybe they'd be willing to replace all four with a decent aftermarket for your trouble!!

Just bought my 2012 fx4 scab Monday and on way home today and my driver side rear door speaker started sounding distorted and getting worse. Truck has 186 miles on it and volume never abused. Slightly upset
