I am currently searching for an aftermarket upgrade for my factory stereo.
My question is will the factory Sirius module work with an after market head unit?

You are correct, the factory module will NOT work with an aftermarket head unit but you can use the original antenna, you just have to remove the plastic piece and it will plug right in.
