I'm not saying you shouldn't be surrounded by music, there is plenty of reflection in a standard cab for that. I'm saying the image should be in front of you (where your mind perceives the sound to come from), too much sound from behind you makes it sound like you're at a concert facing away from the stage.

I've never heard it that way except in the back of some of my friend's sedans. My 6x9s are behind the seat, so they get a little muffled, so the door speakers sound louder. And then I've got house speakers on the trans hump (soon replacing those with a sub).
