Off-Topic: I am currently mounting my remote sub-amp gain in the ashtray.
On-Topic: I was also planning on mounting the DVD switch (if it was deemed necessary) in there as well.
Yes, I am a non-smoker and have the luxury of taking advantage of the ashtray. Personally I find Percocets to be better stress relievers, but thats just a by-product of my own personal experience with the John Jay Report... just kidding

the toggle switch is alittle outdated guys. some one with a switch will say "ohh i like to be able to cut it off" well anyways this can be done with a relay that puts out ground right after the radio comes on. some aftermarket radios can use the blu/wht amp output to trigger a relay to negative right after the radio powers up. if that doesnt work you can get a timed relay that uppon getting power from the key the ralay will wait a set amount of time then ground your wire.

and for those people who still need control. you can sitll use a switch. but wouldnt automatic be nice?

automatic is definitely nice, but its also illegal to have the capability to have video playing while driving in the front in some states, so making a 'hidden' switch its possible to keep you out of trouble. Myself, i would definitely go the relay route you describe here if i was to do it :P

yup it dosnt always work off of the remote wire (blu/wht) i now it works on all non nav pioneer tvs. a timed relay always works but there not something you can get at autozone.
