So...I feel dumb for originally posting this, and wasting everyones time. And yes...it was the dirty contacts thing. After twisting the headphone jack the crackling went away.

Thanks guys! Sorry for asking a such stupid question! Haha!

Ok...i am re animating this thread because the fuzz sound has returned.

Because of the previous info i learned here, I've checked all this stuff...

IPod sounds great with headphones.

Stereo sounds great with the radio, and with a CD playing.

However the iPod plugged into the aux input is where it has the "fuzz."

Only thing i can come up with is the aux input has issues...thoughts?

I know you said you tried other MP3's/Phones before, but have you tried another recently? If it does it with another MP3 or phone, it could be a faulty AUX cable. The cheaper ones do tend to wear out rather quickly.

Yes, i tried it with my wifes iPod. She has a newer one. And my phone. Same. I just changed out the aux cable to an expensive rocketfish(i think that was the name) one, about 3 months ago. Still the same. That's why I'm thinking it is the aux input itself.

Yeah, if you've tried different cables and players, then the problem should be the actual radio/receiver, whatever you want to call it.
