If the stereo is listed as "fits in a double din opening" then it should fit. The screen size is more about the feature. Now there are some oversized double din that are different. They will state that they are oversized.

Crutchfield will also list what head units will fit as well if you want to take all the guess work.

The problem is that the stock HU, at least on the 97-03's isn't a double DIN. It only looks like one. It tapers down to a little bigger than a single DIN size.

There are also brackets, and a plastic housing that follow the same contour. They all need to be cut away and the opening enlarged to fit a double DIN.
