It would be a little tricky trying to put them in a 150 a-pillar. not very wide at all. seems it would be a big moose pod. just a little fiberglass and a template or some speaker rings.

I'm pretty sure he just molded the first one, with trimming of course. It also appears to be more functional, the speakers actually pointing to the listener.

No disrespect, but your completely confusing. "Big moose pod"?
Both are made with wood trim rings, one is made by a professional, the other a "diy".
I value your input, but I don't know your background or your intent.
My intent, is to explore a unique way of installing a front stage active 3 way system. That won't interfere with my future mods, such as a tuner placed on the dash next to the A-pillar.
Thanks,

I believe you are correct. However, I am still waiting for further info from the person who built Picture #2.
It could be that Picture #1 is a "direct axis". As Picture #2 could be "off axis" or it could be cross fired, passenger side speaker to driver side listening.
Still gathering info. Thanks for the input & info.

What do you think about this Tungston??
To be honest I've never seen anything like that done in person as far as the larger speaker but I have done 2 tweeters in my friend's Silverado in the A-pillar. It actually looks pretty sick!! We bought an a-pillar gauge pod and modified it to fit 2 JL tweeters.

I'm not sure how much it would be for a tweeter and a full speaker ((6x9)). When I put them in my friend's Silverado it cost us the following:
$120 for the 2 a-pillar gauge pods
$200 for 4 JL tweeters
$50 for all the wiring. It took me about 3 hours to wire it all up and get it working.
I'm not totally sure but I think installing any kind of speaker in the a-pillar would have to be a custom job. His is cool because he has 4 tweeters and it sounds sick!!! I'll look around for ya' on the a-pillar stuff though.
Are you wanting just tweeters or a tweeter and a speaker in the pilar??
