Does replacing stock sony door speakers help ?

I had these speakers in my old truck, so the money was already spent on them, and they had been sitting in the box not doing anything.
Looking over that thread, it looks like the JL crossover has the option to have separate inputs for the tweeter and mid, mine has only the single input line.
Could I just bypass the stock tweeter wires and run from the amp to the crossover using the door speaker wire? Or does the sony amp remove the higher frequencies from that line?

I know this is an older thread, but I am looking at changing out the door speakers and tweeters with my focal set from my last truck. Is it just plug and play with the tweeters as well or will I need to use the focal crossover? Thanks in advance for any assistance, Cheers, Chris

Installed four of these this past weekend, and that's the best $100 I've spend in a while. The clarity and the bass is remarkably better.
