So swapping out the door speakers with a good set of aftermarkets will be a world of difference even withOUT changing the amp or headunit?
Is it worth changing out the Somy DVC sub with a better one but keeping in the same box AND factory Sony amp?

What size are the factory door speakers 5x7? Think ima start looking into some MB Quarts. They make 4-5 different series of them which ones to go with?

6x8 is what's in there, just finished, super easy, took 45 minutes, sounds much better! I just wish I wouldn't have spent so much on sony system... Oh well, my two 10" kicker subs will be here tomorrow!

pioneer ts-a6885r I just searched reviews on these that I found at wal mart. They had a 4 1/2 star rating and seemed like everyone liked them. $56 at wal mart. I'm impressed with clarity and sound. Even at full volume.

Honestly, any aftermarket brand will sound better. Infinity, Polk, Pioneer, Alpine, etc... Just get a pair that that has a good RMS range. My Infinity's run from 2 - 90 RMS. This way they will sound good if you choose to run them off factory or aftermarket amp. I started with just factory amp but than choose to add an aftermarket a month later. Once you here the improvement leave yourself the option to increase the upgrade even more.

I know this is an older thread, but I am looking at changing out the door speakers and tweeters with my focal set from my last truck.
Is it just plug and play with the tweeters as well or will I need to use the focal crossover?
Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Cheers,
Chris
