Default Does replacing stock sony door speakers help ?

I got a 2012 f 150 screw. It has the sony package, I replaced the sub with dual 10's. But it seems like the sound isn't there. Can't really hear the words. Anyways curious if anyone just did a swap and with what and if it made a difference or not... Thanks!

Replacing door speakers on any radio system Ford offers will help immensely! I understand you bought the "Sony" system but it was engineered for cost first, sound second.

Which ever aftermarket speakers sound best to your ears will be an improvement over the stock speakers.

I used some old Alpines and Image Dynamics that had been sitting unused for many years and they still blew away the stock ones.

I replaced mine with Polk DB 571's. It made a world of difference.

I have the Sony system and first replaced the sub with a Kicker 12 and then upgraded the door speakers to Infinity Reference 6852 or maybe 32 speakers. I can't remember the exact model but it was one of those

HUGE difference with the door speaker upgrade. I also left the factory tweeter's plugged in on the A-pillars to fill in the sound a little better there too. With the door speakers being so low down in the door, I felt I needed to keep some of it up near eye/ear level.

So the factory Sony amp still controls all the door speakers and the tweeters and the sound improvement was quite noticeable. Once you handle and take out the door speakers and compare to a new quality set, you can quickly see why

Awesome, thanks, I don't want to spend a bunch of money I was thinking about just hitting up wal mart for some 6x8s and swapping them out. Did u just cut the existing wires and hook them to the new speakers? I have the sony set up so I don't know if they only have two wires feeding the stock speakers. Thanks!
