Turning on Headlights, Audio stops working
I have an aftermarket Pioneer NAV system with backup camera. Sometimes when I turn on the truck and then the headlights, the audio cuts out. Everything else functions normally. No matter what the audio is, (radio,CD,DVD), the audio stops. I have to leave the lights on, restart my truck with the lights on to get the audio to work. I have the factory sub under the rear seats. My system was installed in 2010 after a theft of my Eclipse NAV system, and it took a few years before this problem started happening. My truck is a 2008 F150 Lariat.
If anyone has any information about how the Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT and how it works with headlights I would like to know which wire I should be looking at.
The nighttime view on the screen works too when the lights are turned on.

My first thought would be to check your hot wire and see if it drops volts when you turn on your lights. turn your dash dimmer all way up and see if that helps. I would run a hot wire from a fuse in the fuse box that is controlled by the key. Im thinking you tied into the wrong wire to start with but you say your night mode works when turning on your lights. I would also check to be sure the alternator is putting out over 13 volts as it sounds to me like a voltage problem put im no mechanic.
