I have a 1800watt amp powering my two 600 watt subs, and they work perfectly together. Follow the steps in the crutchfield tuning guide I posted, and you won't have any problems. Just don't try to push your gain up to high. Because your amp is 1200watt doesnt mean it puts out 1/2 (600 watts) at 1/2 gain. Just take your time and don't over push them. Make sure to set your LPF accordingly as well.

Yes, but you only risk blowing them if you don't tune the system correctly.

Awesome, so I can run them @ 1ohm. I dont intend to run the gains on a high level at all. Right now everything is pretty much at 3/4's and I dont like stressing the amp like that. I'm thinking running them @ 1ohm will allow me to power subs with a lower gain setting and strain on amp and hopefully get them to sound louder.

Kenwood kdv412 or something like that. It's a cd/dvd deck, has 3 4volt pre outs, swl control, sat/hd ready, etc. Bunch of stuff I dont use, lol.

I just got back from stereo shop. They pretty much said to run it in parrallel to bring it to 1ohm, put my stereo to volume 27 (35 is max), zero out swl on stereo and put bass **** in middle./ basically ended up with the gains at 3/4's and it sounded pretty good. They said to play with bass ****/swl as needed per song but not to go past volume 27 or put any of the settings, stereo/amp, on high. It kicks alot better on some songs. I hope I'm still good within the safe zone.
