the subs are dual 4 ohm, and you could give both 350-400 rms...so a solid amp that will do the power at 1 ohm would be best.

it will be tigt under the rear seats, im not gonna lie but you can make it work

Since there is already a thread open about DC subs i thought i would just add my question to it! Loganberry this is for you cuz you seem to know your stuff!

Okay so i wanna upgrade my system and right now i got 2 xplodes under my backseat(i know the suck but werent bad for starter subs). My question is since i'm dealing with a limited amount of space in my truck! what would sound better! 2 level 3's in a sealed 2.5 cubic ft box or one level 4 in a ported 2.5ft cubic box. i know i dont have enough airspace for 2 level 4's because they need to be ported! and thats just not enought room! i lifted my seat about 3 inches and built my own box so i have enough room for the mounting depth on both the level 3's and level 4! i just wanna know what would be louder! if you could help me out that would be awesome! i think i'm gunna email rusty and ask his opinion and for some prices. thanks!

Forgot to mention i can only fit 12" subs thanks

sorry im just gettin back to you, just got back from reno and hangin out with rusty a little, well your only option is the level 3's, the level 4's have to be in a ported box to really shine, and you dont really have the space for a good sized ported box

2.5 cu ft isn't enough to sound good in a ported box? the website says it only needs 1.5. i know those are pretty much min requiered! idk you know more than me! i was really leaning toward the level 4! lol

i only got room for a 12" cuz it would go under the seat which i raised about 3.5 inches! i have a box for 2 12's now which has a mount depth of 7.5 inches and around 2.5 or so cu ft! bottom of the box is around 2 inches above the floor so the sub would't hit the floor! um that about it that i can think of! whatever i get i will uprade amps to accomidate of course and also wiring!

the problem with any downfire box is the following, you have to measure the following, gasket ontop of front baffle (piece of wood the sub is mounted too) then add xmax subtract total space you have, if you can get it to fit then you are good!
