Default dash kit

I'm going to be buying a new in dash nav reciever and have two questions. First what are considered some of the better units out there. I was looking at a nice jvc model. Second who makes the nicest dash kit for the 04-08 models. Thanks for any suggestions or input

Come on guys, I know some of you guys have put aftermarket multi media receiver in your 04-08's. Nobody has an opinion on what dash kit to use and what units are good. I really need some input. Thanks

I had an 08 F150 and installed a Pioneer Nav System. It was ok for back then but a little buggy. For the dash kit I went with Scosche for the Best finish. Metra is good too just depends on your preference and availibility. These are the only two options for the dash kit that I am aware of.

I've heard the scosche kit gives a more factory look. Just wasn't sure if that was for the 04-08 or the newer models.

I've been looking at the jvc or the kenwoods and maybe even the new 8" alpine even though it would take a little more work to fit it.

Heard a lot of bad about the new Alpine. Seems the nav is not too good. Go to Crutchfield and enter your truck information, then start looking around. Their fit guide is very accurate. If I were going for a new system I would likely focus on Kenwood. Since you don't have sync, the options are wide open. Just a harness and install kit should get you started with whatever HU you decide on.

Yeah Kenwood and JVC are owned by the same company now. I was looking at the JVC KW-NT800HDT. I saw one video review on youtube on it and the guy loved it. Wish I could find some head to head comparisons. Not sure what Kenwood would be the most comparable.
