The 12's will probably require too much air, so probably the 10's.
I'm looking at this thread on f150online (sorry if I'm not allowed to post links to other sites....) http://www.f150online.com/forums/spe...er-things.html

I asked for some dimensions see if anyone will help a brother out (so to speak).

How important is it for the exact minimum volume on a box? is .2 cu.ft. really that big a deal...

I know there was something else I was gonna say, but I can't remember. Oh well....

the space of the box is crucial, a box too small makes your sub sound like ***, a box too big breaks it if your not smart.....so you wanna run 10"s...sure no 8"s?

I'm not opposed to the 8's, I just don't know enough about them and how they would sound in comparison to the 10's. If I go with the 8's, how many and what type would be comparable to a couple of 10's? The 10's do seem like a little bit of a squeeze in the box, but I know it will make my truck rattle a bit.

if your going off of rattle then im afraid i wont help you

i bass a vehicles sound off of the way it sounds, not the way the pieces outside the car sound.....so you dont need rattle to be loud or be happy with it

for your budget id recommend 3 (4 if you can squeeze it) sundown 8"s on a simple zx 300.1 amp, that would sound very good imo...now only problem is wanting a prefab box to house 8" woofers...there isnt many

I have been looking at what setup i want for my Screw as well and this is what i am getting after 2 months of research.
sub box from subthump.com its $140
2 10 inch subs from elemental designs (11kv.2 dual 4 ohm)
elemental designs amp (NINe.2X)
they have a package deal right now for 365.50
Kenwood DDX712 dvd/cd head unit $570
2 sets of Kenwood Excelon KFC-X682C 6x8 $160 for both
the whole system should be around 1400 after i get all the other stuff to hook it up.

so far so good, i would look into a different head-unit, possibly a higher kenwood, kenwood has great units, but something abuot that one that was cheaply built...also the elemental design subs for the past 2 years have been made quite cheaply, idk if its the vc's not being wound tight enough or not but they get jacked up on minimul power, other then that great lookin so far

Hey Red, I picked up my Kenwood DNX5120 for 640 with shipping. The install kit it came with sucked, but you can buy another one for cheap. Looks like you got a $40 price break on this link http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-KENWOOD-DNX5...713.m153.l1262
Super easy to install if your doing it yourself (including e-break bypass....) and it was shipped to me inside of a week.

Alright, I'm gonna make a decision since I have been debating for a few days now. I think that a box is too much work for me at this point, so I'm just gonna stick with a dual 10" setup and from looking Rockford Fosgate makes some good sub's that only require .6 or less cu.ft.

I guess my next step is finding a good set of sub's, I'm open to other brand's.

Sorry if I sound like a pain! I really wish I had the time to make that box, I'm sure it would turn out great...

http://musicmooseaudio.com/ford_f_150f.html

Looks like a good box. $161.11 is the pricetag on it (shipping w/ black carpeting).... That just seems like alot for a few pieces of wood and some carpet.... polyurethane worth $50? I'm indifferent between that and carpeting as far as looks go....

Budget is down to 340-440... (nothing has been purchased yet....)

Someone on another forum said that the subs hit the floor when...... I guess I'll switch to this one....
http://supercrewsound.com/commerce/p...Id=10&catId=58
These subs were recommended by that site, and I know I've read about these sub's supposedly being pretty good, let me know what you think:

that is alot for a box, but thats the price you pay for prefab...keep in mind a 4x8 sheet of mdf is 30 bucks, and thats about half a sheet in that box, but thats prefab

i dont like the id max subs, you may but i was far from impressed....that box will hold 8's too, but if you want 10"s i have the ones in mind, just getting enough room from front baffle to floor is tough, very tough because most sub manufactureres dont show the gasket+surround measurements, but you will have to take a chance, and if it dosnt work a 8-10 1/2" nuts will fix your problem
