it's been pretty cold these last few weeks, will this kill my sub or amplifier? I know it's probably unrealistic just thought I'd shoot the idea out there but I was driving around this afternoon one minute I'm jamming out to some Colt Ford then no bass all of sudden so I don't know what the **** happened. I don't normally go around blaring my sub but I do admit I had the bass up pretty good.

So I bought a new amplifier thinking it got fried last night just to test out the difference. M o t h e r fu c ker still isn't sending the power to the sub woofer. I'm about to rip this s h I t out and cut my losses.

Test all your wires for connectivity and shorts and monitor your voltage levels.

Yo, Cooter!

So far you've:

1) Displayed yer lack of troubleshooting skills
2) Displayed yer poor taste in music
3) Made three attempts at circumventing the site's Language Filter

And NO - the cold will not affect yer audio system.

Here - bone up:

www.the12volt.com

And buy a good multimeter; learn how to use it.

Cheers

Upon further review and use of a multimeter it turns out that I blew the sub. Even though the Pioneer was under warranty I opted to get a new Rockford Fosgate 12" sub. Turns out my little Rx500 amp is a little too high powerful for that sub. Note to self I will not be blasting the bass as hard.

It's normally not wattage that kills a speaker. It's mismatched impedance.
