Well i went to page 36 of owners manual and looked under Settings: Apparently the Menu control really is suppose to be 2 ways for navigating to main menu or previous lower level menu. So this could be that this is just a intermittent problem and i really did nothing at all. Well there goes all the air out of my sails! LOL,

Stereo still working perfectly! Not. I turned the key to the accessory but did not tun engine over and stereo came on with sound. Turned key on over to start and stereo playing and NO Sound. Press power button off and back on then all good. I am going to take it back to installer or pull the HU out myself and check connections, ground.

I'm new to car audio, what is PAC and what is it for? Do I need it to install a small amp for new door speakers?

The PAC unit plugs in between the stereo and the truck wiring harness and gives you a set of RCA outputs and a remote turn on lead. You don't absolutely need it, but it is the only way to install an amp that is completely plug and play. If you don't use it you will have to cut or tap factory wiring. Note that the PAC unit will not work with the new stereos with the 4 inch screen in the dash
