Clarion MAX675VD Install
Hi Everyone
New Member here....been 'creeping' on this forum for a loooong time, as i have been in the market for an F150 for about 6 months....finally found a great deal on a 2007 F150 Lariat, and pulled th trigger on the weekend.
Being an audiophile (no pun intended) the first thing i did is put my favorite head unit into the truck - a Clarion MAX675VD. have had this in 3 of my vehicles now, and just loved it. this was out of my last truck, an Explorer Sport Trac, and the person i sold it to was stuck on paying me $500 less than what i wanted, so we agreed i take the stereo out....($1000 value... )
Anyways, here is the installed pic:
sorry i finished late last night, and the pic is with a blackberry....
the question i have is that i would like to mount a rocker switch for video bypass...no not for me...but the kids on long drives....any suggestions where members have installed them?
thanks guys, and looking forward to being a member here for a long time!

Well if you dont need your lighter, than thats where i mounted mine. Looks clean and you dont have to drill into the dash. I have pics if you would like to see.

GrnMachine - thanks, and yes! would definately like to see how you did it. I have no plans of using the lighter anyways.
i have the switch wired up right now, and it's ust sitting in the ashtray. (all insulated, so no other worries), but i know i'll be dumping coins etc in there so wuold def. like a nice and easy place to mount the swtich. Thanks in advance.

All I used was a simple round switch from autozone. Fit perfectly inside. Hopefully our lighters are the same since mine is a '04 xlt Screw. Anyways here are some pics of it. Let me know if you have any questions.

ahh, i see what you did there...i'm wried up to a rectangular switch. like this one:
i'm going to either have to get a switch like yours or cut into the dash somewhere....
how did you mount the swtich into the lighter though? did that just fit perfectly in it? how'd you fix it in?
thanks

I just hollowed out the lighter part but kept the outside housing and put the switch in that. It was a perfect fit. Than I just reinserted in back into the dash piece. Kind of hard to explain. Maybe I can get some pics of it for ya
