I was wondering if the components listed are solid for a good sq system. As they were recommened to me by a local shop.I also wondered if the stock charging system could handle this system ok.

Hey, if you're wanting to save a little cash check out onlinecarstereo.com. You can get just about everything you listed for cheaper possibly. I just order wiring kit, kicker cvt 10 sub. 6x8 kenwood door spear(2sets), alpine mrp 500 for under 400

130amp Alternator will be your friend. Additionally I would get a 2 farad minimum capacitor. Rockford Fosgate, Boss or Power Acoustik. Other than that you are good to go.

I'm not a car audio guru by any means but I know a lot of shops will try to sell you stuff you don't need also. Do take time and do research. I would also check out ripoff report.com to see if there are any negative reviews on the shop you're going to.

Check out crutchfield I've made purchases from onlinecarstereo.com but when I got my sub it was all scratched up like it was used. Crutchfield also has excellent customer support and they will honor warranties. As for your hypothetical setup it sounds pretty solid I've worked with everything you've mentioned and it sounds like you did some homework. Especially on the amp that's one of the most popular five channels out right now I think we've done 5 or so in the last 4 months at my shop.

If you are looking for good SQ I wouldn't suggest the type S in the front stage. For the price, the type R's are a much better pick. Stick with the comps in the front, just go with type R's. Handle power much better and you will see a huge improvement in the mid's. Coax's are fine for the rear fill. Just filter accordingly.
As for the alt and a capacitor. The PDX's are known for efficiency (Class D). You should have no problem powering the above with your factory system. A big 3 upgrade would help, but not imperative.

Definitely the PDX if you're looking for sound quality. I have a PDX 600w on my type R, and had it hooked up to my previous sub. Love that amp. Clean, and it runs so cold!
