I have put everything from decks to everything including replacing factory stereo wires in vehicles. 99% of the time its what friends or their friends buy and bring me. The one thing i have always noticed it station reception gets crappy compared to the factory hu.

Is there a way to boost my reception distance?

Unfortunately that is a downside to aftermarket HU's. There are signal boosters but they dont work worth a crap. There is just something about factory radios that have better reception.
