Default Can any sub be down fired?

Hi, I picked up a kicker truck box with comp c10 sub. It fits perfect under my seat, but is it ok to face the sub down? I put some 1 1/2" blocks under it to give it some space to move. I'm awaiting my amp to arrive so I can't put the Jucie to her. Thanks

yes - bass is non-directional. It will probably work out better firing down. I had a single 10" a while back that sound much better in the cab of the truck when I fired it down or back.
This applies if it is in a sealed box. If it is a ported or bandpass box - the rules are different.

Yes on a sealed or ported box down firing is generally best option!

If you used it for down firing make sure amp phasing is down ..or if your head unit is capable you can just switch your subwoofer phasing Down.Good luck?

only if the box is made for down firing. otherwise your sub will be damaged from hitting the floor

I've been running my set up for a week now, works great. I just put a spacer between the box and floor. Hits pretty damn good for a cheap 10" w/ 150w rms. my amp is overkill@ 450rms but, I shouldn't have any heat issues as its only turned up about half way. Thanks again gentlemen.
