Default Built Ford Tough VS DVD

I am looking to install an aftermarket system and I see some say DVD in the screen and others say built ford tough. Is there any reason why? Do the systems that had sync display one and non sync the other? I want to do the install but I don't want to lose the temp and compass and have the screen display DVD all the time.

Thanks

It is what the adapter does when putting in an aftermarket radio. I had sync and it displayed DVD

Thanks for the reply. I'm wondering if that is the difference. Sync vs non Sync. Anyone without sync have DVD displayed all the time or Built Ford Tough?

Are you speaking of the 2 line display?

In order to install a Maestro Rr, your HU needs to be compatible with it!

I have the Kenwood DNX9980HD. I do believe it is compatible. Did you have to purchase an additional harness to work with the Maestro?
