BT-5520 assembly non Sony/nav
I've been seeing a lot of the same questions about the BT-5520 and how it works. I just got a 2011 screw and will be upgrading my audio system keeping the stock stereo with Sync.
I will be using a Audio Control LC6i as my LOC. Using the BT-5520 to save my factory harness.
Here is how I set up my harness using BT-5520 and Streetwires ICS920C.
I cut the speaker leads and stripped the ends and cut the switched power for the remote line.
This is the Streetwires ICS920C I'll be running from the stereo to the LC6i behind the rear seat. It has 9 leads 8 color coded for all four doors and a remote switch line.
Match up the colors and crimp and the blue remote line spliced into the switched power line.
So here is the complete harness. I have Sync so just dead end the black plugs into each other. the black plugs are for adding blu-tooth to non sync stereos.
Clean up with a couple zip ties and your ready to route your wires and install your LOC and Amp/s.
I hope this helps answer some of the questions people are having about the BT-5520.
I bought the BT-5520 off Amazon for about $30 and the Streetwires ICS920C (2 pack 40 feet total) from vminnovations.com for $26.

After looking at that a second time with a better understanding of how the BT-5520 is constructed (just did the small Alpine amp mod)...I see that you have the side all wired up to go from your head unit to your LC6i. What are you going to use to go from your amp to your speakers? I see you only have half of the wiring (for speaker wires) that I would expect for this set up. Did you have a different plan for the 2nd half of your wiring instead of using the BT-5520 to get to your speakers?

I'm going to be running new 12 gauge speaker wire direct from the JL Audio XD600/6 to the Infinity Kappas. I feel the 12 Gauge will give me better sound and efficiency than the stock 16-18 gauge wire. I might be wrong but I would rather take the time to do it right if I'm not wrong.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea but I think 12 gauge is a little overkill for 75 watts. You'd probably be fine with 14 or maybe 16. The 18 gauge is pretty small and I'm surprised that the majority of the 9 wire speed cable out there is 18 or 22 gauge. I'm using just the stock wiring for my amp and it's only 45 watts RMS...and I think 45-50 watts is the highest I'd go with 18 gauge. Good luck with your install.

I will also use the BT-5520,i have everything in a closet waiting for winter to end so i can start with my upgrade. My question is are the speaker wire on the harness the same color as the ones on the factory harness? I'm also going to be using new speaker wire from amp to speakers.
