Default bought pre-wired truck what is this cable for?

I don't know anything about aftermarket stereos and thought I might as well throw a sub in since it is all pre-wired for me. Can anyone tell me what the black cable is for?

The blue wire is power the black wire is ground. the red and white are your RCA wires for signal to the amp from the head unit. The copper and tin wire is speaker wire for signal from the amp to the box. And the phone line looking cord goes to a **** that you would use to adjust the gain on the sub

The two thin/low gauge wires look to be wires that go from a subwoofer to an amp.

The telephone looking like goes from a bass **** to the amp.

The RCA's (plugs) go from headunit to the amp

The black is either your positive or ground. I would assume your ground. (read below)

The blue is probably your power wire. Before hooking up, use a light tester to check for 12+

If you don't have 12v at the end oh that cable check the fuse. If there's no fuse holder start over COMPLETELY.

Thanks so much! this is the sub I want to put behind the back seats of a screw. I dont want to loose any storage room in the cab.
Amazon Amazon

I just didn't see an amp that had the phone connection so I wasn't sure what it was for.

If you have an amp you could reccomend that would be great. I'm not looking to blow the windows off just thought it would be a waste to not hook something up.

That sub is rated very low at 100-200 rms. So any amp that can run 200watts at 2ohms will work.

Before you start setting up your amps settings, make sure to turn the gain all the way down. Tune your system according. Most mono 2ohm amps put out more than 200 watts.

Very good point. I would check under the hood first. Check to see if they have the blue wire fused at the battery.

Thing looks gross man get a new fuse holder $15 max and you'll know what you're getting.

And that connection isn't nessacary basically it adjust the gain remotely. But if you tune it properly you don't need it.
