That's right. Don't forget you can put 6.5 up front too (or a few other sizes) with a simple bracket.

Cool, i was thinking of adding a 4 channel amp and new speakers. The 6x9 should give decent bass if i go with a good set.. trying to upgrade without breaking the bank. Have you looked at line output converters yet? I herd you need one to hook up an amp.

That's what I'm using the AudioControl DQ61 for (plus EQ and TA). Definitely need some version of a LOC.

Same here...Hope it goes smooth! I am just trying to get a better idea of how/where to tap into my speaker wires. Everything from that point fwd *should* be straight forward...never is completely though!

Dumb question may be, but I haven't found the answer yet.
I have a 2016 XLT Sport with the 8" display and the 302A package.
I'm assuming this one comes with the Sony head unit, is that correct?

Not necessarily. Mine has the 8 inch, 302A and is not Sony. I believe Sony is a 10 speaker package with a sub behind back seat. You would know it if you have the Sony.

Mine doesn't have the Sub but the power inverter.
Reading here just found out that the amplifier at least for the Sony it is behind the rear seat. I will check that tomorrow since it is pouring raining here right now. Meanwhile I'm doing a lot of reading.

I'm assuming because of what I've been reading that the front speakers are oval and the rear round.
