Default AVH-P4300DVD Backgrounds

Does anybody know where I can find a list of what file types can be used as a background on this unit? I'm more concerned with the video-clip type files. There are 3 or 4 preloaded that can be selected, but I have no idea how to find out what file types they are.

I've made a similar post on AVIC411 also.

The manual on the Pioneer site did not tell this?

Oh, ok, probably not specifically mention backgrounds. Oh well good luck, will be interesting to find out. Thanks

The only information I can find is the background picture is 4 BGP, 3 BGV... but I have no idea what that means. (Background pic, background vid maybe?) I've tried to google those acronyms but nothing is coming up. Anyone know what BGP or BGV means? The manual shows a couple .jpg derivatives for still images. Don't know if any of them are similar to a .gif image. I guess it'll be the good old trial-and-error method to figure this out.

Yeah I would load a few different pics and have each pic have a different format and see what works and what doesn't. I was wondering the same thing, but on the 4100...

No help there. That thread is about re-sizing images to fill the screen on the smaller screen units. I haven't had any prob with that so far. I have a few full size screenshots loaded on my SD card and they all show up fine.

I haven't tried any of the different .jpg types yet but I'll post the results when I do.

I used a .jpg burned on a disk, loaded the disk up, went into slide show mode, and then captured the image to the unit, and when I went to pick a background, I hit the "custom picture" button and Boom. It worked

Hope that helps

Please repost if you find the answer. I'm also interested with the 4300. Another question is what size jpeg are you using for the pictures??

I'm not having probs loading still images. I'm trying to figure out what file type the pre-loaded video clip backgrounds are. I'd like to make a custom animated background instead of just having a standard one.

I think the resolution on my desktop computer is 1920x1080 or something. I haven't had any probs with it resizing my screenshots. I've also uploaded a few of the custom backgrounds on the avic411.com website. A couple of those don't completely fill the screen, but still look pretty good. I don't remember what size those are.

Was wondering the file size of the picture file. I think most are 800x480. I also found a few on avic that were good. I've been playing around with this as well. Still not sure on the "movie" file......
