its not hard at all, just need a few basic tools and time, a saw to cut wood with, table saw makes it nice and easy, a few hand tools to get to the things you need and mainly just time running the wires and putting everything together, its pretty cut and dry

I think the sub has 5 wires running to it.

This was the sub and enclosure I originally purchased. The sub was ok but I still wanted better so I bought a JL Audio 13Tw5 and made it to fit the box and it sounds much better.

Then I just bought a cheapo 300W amp to power the sub and a 400W amp wiring kit and did all of the work myself. With the MTX sub the setup only cost me $300 total for everything. With the JL it adds another $150 to the total cost.

Could the Audiophile box fit a bigger amp and sub w/ or w/o alterations?

yes...but keep in mind the box is plastic so dont expect too much sound out of it, the sub is an 8" just measure and try something, just remember gasket (size of woofer from front baffle to where screws go in) + xmax so u dont worry about hitting the floor

LOL....alright man.. english is needed here. The baffle is_______ xmax is ______

Sorry, wasn't joking about not knowing squat about car audio. Price was cheap and was really not going to go into the audio stuff until I had done the tint, wheels and tires, but this was cheap and easy option for now. Do really need anything crazy for now. Probably not worth it to put a higher end speake/amp in that box then eh?

Don't really expect it too. Was thinking about putting a better sub in there but will probably let it get my by for a while. I do have an amp sitting around here somwhere..I wonder if that and a bigger/better sub would make a dif.??

xmax is the excursion of the sub (outward force in/movement in one direction) the baffle is the part of the box that the subs are mounted on it may be also reffered to as the face

you can take a chance with getting a larger amp and better subwoofer...you may be happy with the sound it creates in the factory box, if not at least you have the equipment to build it yourself and it will sound better for sure
