You get what you pay for.. Ran a kicker setup a few years back and also Rockford Fosgate... They both sucked... I'm running JL Audios now and I have no complaint... Pretty pricey but I get clarity and crisp sound without having a amp running to them.. I think if I added a 120w amp i'd be even happier...

My post was more directed toward the speakers, but as far as sync and steering wheel controls go, I dont know which HU's the PAC harness will work with...havent worked with one before. It is possible to keep the stock radio and run from that, some people prefer it while others prefer models with more tuning options or features. I think you missed one of my questions when it comes to the speakers though, SQ(sound quality) or SPL(sound pressure level)?

Really I was leaning more towards sound quality, I went to the local best buy, and the best sounding ones there are pioneers, they blew away the kickers, polks, sonys, and alpines, both with and without the amp.

If you're going for sound quality, I suggest Hybrid Audio Imagine. The Imagine series is their cheaper line, but it has very high sound quality. I personally have been looking at the Hybrid Audio Unity line, or the next step up. Imagines will prob run you about $250ish but they're well worth the money. As far as the ones you listened to previously, I can't say anything specific because I dont know which models you listened to. But those brands wouldn't touch the Imagines. Kicker and Sony aren't really that great especially once you get them turned up, and the alpines aren't bad but the tweeters can be a little harsh on the highs. Pioneer speakers have definetly improved over the years and I think a few people on here have them. Try to get into a car audio speciality store and find some other speakers to listen to (def check out the imagines), but if you find them, don't buy them. Car audio places can be a ripoff, I'm sure I could help you find them online for cheaper than any local stores. Plus local guys try to push a lot of the cheaper equipment and it's usually just not worth it. If you have anymore questions or want some help finding cheap speakers, just let me know

Yes tell me about it! My local electronics store's prices are ridiculous! $50 per door on speaker install just to give an example. I'm really glad a new best buy opened up here they have really good prices compared to everyone else here. As far as online goes I knw! The crappy boss audio door speakers I have now cost me $15 a pair. The capacitor was $25 (3.5 farad) and the amp was $65. I didn't buy they them because I'm cheap, but because it was all that I could afford at the time haha, but now I want some decent equipment!

Another suggestion, since you brought it up lol, ditch the capacitor. They are nearly worthless. A capacitor can get you 1 or 2 deep beats but they take to long to recharge and essentially become a resistance and will limit the power your amp sees, keeping it from reaching its full potential. There are a few other things you can do if you're looking to compensate for lights dimming, etc. First is the big three upgrade (link below). And depending how much power you're feeding to amps, you may want to consider an upgraded alternator and/or a second battery(prefferably ones made for car audio as they discharge and recharge differently than your average truck battery). Sell the cap on ebay or craiglist and get a few bucks back out of it from some sucker I guess lol

Your subs are the JL W1V2's...they are single 4 ohm voice coils right?
If they are single 4 ohms, I suggest this amp and this wiring set up(for sub-amp specifically):

Amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...t-FX1.600.html
Wiring diagram(use the top one, 2 ohm load): http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftec...2&woofer_imp=1

MB Quart makes very nice amps that will do at least their rated power, just make sure the gains are set properly and not cranked all the way up as this will cause distortion and clipping, which will fry your subs and amp.

Sweet thank you! Although I currently have a maxxsonics amp its a crunch, it does push em pretty good, and I have it wired like the first option, bridged, as far as the cap goes I got it because I thought my system was not getn enough juice, and honestly, I want to get reputable brand name stuff like jl, my jl amp lasted about 5 or 6 years I bought it new for $400 bucks back then, and that amp bumped harder then the one I have now, but the crunch one is ok for now

I know a lot of people get that way about the "mainstream" brands, but I won't push the issue as I'm not the one purchasing it. If you need anymore help or have questions just let me know.
