Default Attaching door speakers to minimize vibration

I have some new speakers to put in the doors and the plastic speaker nuts in the door panels are worn out. I am using some 3m stick on material to reduce the vibration of the new speakers but wouldn't the vibration be lessened by attaching the speakers to the metal door instead of the plastic panel? Thoughts?

Use a little duct seal..you can get it at home depot its like a clay...roll into a small rope and place it behind the speaker mounting and the screw it down. To answer you question no, you need to decouple something in order to prevent vibrations.
