anyone try a subwoofer under front jumpseat?
hey guys im upgrading my stereo head unit and door speakers and i kinda wanted to raise the front middle jump seat up an inch or so anyways for a higher elbow rest, so gonna mount it up on a 1" or 1 5/8 " strut.
as it is theres 9.5 x 10 x 4 " deep of a space in which i was hoping to squeeze a 10" subwoofer and put an amp under the seat next to it..
ive seen a few 10 " subs online, that need a 9 " cutout that are only 4 " deep, sounds like that should work.
question is how to mount it?
facing up towards the seat or down facing floor?
is being too close to the metal seat base with speaker magnet gonna cause problems?
if so shud i make it face up?
oh and the restraint control module is mounted on the floor right under the sub, will the sub magnet affect it i wonder?
im not willing to give up any room under rear seat as its full of stuff already under there.

I am actually about to start building mine soon. I already have all the measurements and made my design. My idea is just a little different than yours. Also I'm doing a 12" sub with a 6" mounting depth
Decided to mock up one side of the box to make sure that piece would fit.

It fit in there with just one problem problem.

Just down at the bottom right next to where your feet go it was a little high so that it wouldn't sit on the carpet I'm goin to add an inch so it will sit in there good

Here's my drawing with what I'm doin to the box.

ya i was too lazy to make my own box, i took the easy way out. car audio guy said just sticking a sub in there without sealing it all up in an enclosure would not put out much bass at all.
so i bought the 150 w powered kicker hideaway sub he had , it fits under the seat, just barely.
as for the jumpseat, i cut off the little tabs in the rubber grommets that hold the seat down and now the seat will easily pop off revealing a SCRET hideway storage area
thanks anyways, hope it works for yu

Finish product
Well not really finish product I still have to cover it. Which Idk if I should carpet it or do a bed liner type finish or fiber glass and male it a shiny black.
I like the fiberglass idea and make it shiny. But I don't know how to fiberglass it. Like I wouldn't know what to buy or how to do it.
