Default Anyone going to bite the bullet? Alpine X009-FD1

Any brave souls going to pony up the cash? Thoughts on this system. I am about to purchase a 2014 XLT, but I want a large screen display.

I am in the middle of installing the Universal kit in mine. I had the factory Nav/Sony system in mine. These are made to replace the trucks without the Nav, so I had to go with the X009-U. So far I have the radio in and everything is working, but I am not experienced enough with molding the trim pieces together so I am having a friend do that. Once he is finished, I will have it and a few other pieces hydro-dipped. I will say the sound is MUCH better than stock. I haven't had much time to tune it yet, just set some X-over's. I had the Alpine PXA-H800 processor with the stock head unit, but decided I wanted a bigger screen. I will post some pics when It is finished.

Pretty pricey. I looked at them also but without a install kit it's a no go.

Hopefully the Maestro kit will be out soon.

Default Alpine X009-FD1 A/V Navigation System

Has anyone installed the Alpine X009-FD1 yet? They are out of my price range (at least 'til after Christmas) but look sweet. I spotted this one on eBay with "navigation" misspelled though something tells me that's not gonna stop folks from finding it.

I would be careful on this one. Seller doesn't have any feedback over the last 12 months and none at all for selling. Also offering free international shipping with no reserve looks fishy

I think the days of getting taken to that degree are over. eBay now makes new or first time sellers wait 72 hours AFTER the buyer receives the item before they release the funds and then if anything goes wrong, PayPal is usually quick to take the side of the buyer and refund the money. It dramatically cut down on scammers and crooks on eBay but made it a pain in the *** for first time sellers.

Anyway, if I end up winning it and it turns out to be legit I'll follow-up on the forum...assuming I can pry myself away from playing with my new A/V Navi.

Good luck. What do you plan on putting it in?

My Raptor - just purchased last month. Amazingly, it did not come equipped with the My Ford / My Ford Touch or factory Nav so the Alpine should be compatible.
