Default Another Battery???

Well my amp is power hungry and keeps cutting out when I turn it up. I have read mixed reviews about adding another battery. Some people say do it and others say not to because it causes extra strain on your alternator?? Just wondering what your thoughts are on this.....

you should not be having a problem, what size power wire are you running? and is it still your stock battery and alt?

you shouldnt have any problem =\

www.ebay.com

order yourself a kinetik hc 600 or 800

some 0 gauge wire to do the positive and negative run from your front battery to the rear, 2 anl fuse holders and 2 300 amp anl fuses...that will take care of your problem

Anything over 500 amps I recommend a Capacitor.

im sorry but a capacitor is just a "buffer" for the electrical system, a battery is much better than a capacitor by far, as the cap may help with voltage drop or dimming it will not fix it, thats when you rely to batteries...cap's are severly over hyped and are no where near as good as there made out to sound

Yeah I don't know what the problem is. I had this same amp in my 04' monte carlo and ran two 10" subs and never had a problem. I wouldn't think it would have anything to do with my head unit, but im not expert either. I just hate listening to my music and it cuts out about every 30 seconds....

PS..I have a 1/2 farad capacitor already, doesn't do

well even if its not the problem another battery wont hurt you, your monte carlo and f150 should have the same size alt (amerage wise) what headunit are you running? and has it always done this, or is it something recent
