Amps to Support External Event Speaker

Amps to Support External Event Speaker
Hello friends,
I have a 2011 lariat and I am looking to upgrade the sound system. I want the 4 speaker stock system to sound better at high volumes, and to support hooking up an external "band" speaker for events (such as tailgating). I don't have much experience with audio systems, and have been having trouble figuring out what I'll need to do this.
I originally thought there was a 5 channel amp out there that would be able to run it. But when I talked to a salesman, he said that the 5th channel is only for subwoofers, and that I would need two 4 channel amps - one to run the inside 4 speaker system, and the other amp solely for the external speaker.
Does anyone have a set up like this? Trying to figure out what kind andd how many amps I need first.

Or use a 4 channel and a single channel amp for the external speaker

There were some older (late 90s) 5 channels that would do full range on channel 5 from back when in-car video was a thing. You might be able to find a full-range 6 channel

Thanks for the suggestions!
So, for example I was looking at this 5 channel amp:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113XR90...n-XR900-5.html
It says it has a "variable low-pass filter on subwoofer channel (50-200 Hz, 24 dB/octave)". Does the mean this one wouldn't work? It cannot have any sort of filtering or crossover on that 5th channel?

Slim options for 6 channel amps these days. Plenty of space behind the backseat for multiple amps but more wiring. Here's an option http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_81598_JL-Audio-XD600-6V2.html
If I was looking into it for outside speakers I would try to install an outlet to plug them into easily without folding the seat down every time. Maybe around the hole under the driver side rear seat. Could use a couple speaker box terminals on a custom piece of wood or abs plastic. Plenty of options.
