Default Amplifier advice

Hi y'all

I installed 2 pairs of Pol Audio db571's and I'm thinking of adding an amp.

(1) Alpine MRP-F300 - great price

Or

(2) Rockford Fosgate Power T400-4 - more money (about $100) but has the specs. that my installer recommends (24db scaling instead of 12db scaling).

Is (2) necessary/worth the extra $$$, would I notice the difference between the two.

I think the idea is to use the rear speakers to replicate the lower frequencies. I do not intend to install a sub.

Thanks

Paul

The Rockford wont let you down, for SQ and power. I have this powering a set of Focal K2 Power's in the front with Alpine R coax's in the rear for fill. The 24db/octave has amazing roll so all the system sounds nice and clear together. My T400 was rated at 79x4 at 4. The T1500 was 1932 x1 at 1. You can't go wrong with these power series Rockfords.

Thanks. But, is it too much for my speakers?

Nope. The rms ratings on the polks are 60, which is the same ratings as the Rockford(it will be more like 75rms though). If you set your gain and crossover settings accordingly, it should sound pretty amazing.

I haven't heard many polks, but since crutchfield has decent reviews on them, I will assume they are a decent coax.

I run alpine often with great success. The mrp 300 is a strong clean amp. I overpowered a set of kenwood components with it. It runs cool and was clean power at an affordable price. Plus look at the size. I'm running 2-300s and 2-500s. Rockfords have always been comparable. Pricing I'm not sure on the Rockford but you can't go wrong with either.
