Default Amp and sub

My 2014 xlt stock radio isn't great. I'm not looking for much more but would like to acquire some more bass and volume. What do you guys recommend that's easy and simple . Also is it worth the hassle of doin it ur self or should I pay a company?

I would change out the door speakers. Those are easy to do with plenty of instructions on the web and here on to do do it.

Adding a powered sub is a little more involved as you need to tap into the door speaker wires for a signal. Run a turn on wire from your fuse box to the sub and a main power wire from the battery to the sub.

The first time to do it is the worst because you have to learn how to hook everything up and how to take door panels apart and replace them.

A shop should charge you about 2 hours of labor to install.

Ditto.
Thank you for posting Baseball22087.
Thank you for the suggestions Wyo11Scab.
.
Stock speakers favor noisy, high frequencies.
My ears are shot so that aggravates.
Am considering bypassing the small speakers and only using mid and bass.
.
How do we tell which manufacturer is responsible for the unsatisfactory noise ?
Like to give them a chance to redeem their product.
.

Care to explain? No that kit won't win you any stereo contest but for the price and sound over stock it's pretty good.

Yes it's $ 500 but you should be able to install it your self. Here's another opinion

Maybe the best you could do for $500, although I would argue against that as well. Maybe the best (only?) all-in-one solution? Give me $600 to spend and I'll destroy that kicker
