Default amp installed, check engine light is on now.

So is this something to be concerned about or is this a normal thing that just needs to be cleared? Also how would I clear it if its the later.

Need more details. Upon reading your post, I remembered that this happened to me once. I was running my power wire through my firewall, and I tried to go through what I thought was a grommet. I pulled at it, and I heard air escape. I obviously messed something up, and the CEL did light up. So once again, more details please. It could also be a coincidence, either way, get the code checked at your local parts store, it's free.

As much as I can tell you nothing should be wrong, had no " woops" moments, I will get it read tomorrow after work and post results. I went in through the grommet that all the electrical already uses.

We did start it with the CD player out and completely disconnected at one point, the light didnt come on, I drove it for 5 minutes to listen to the new sound. No light, I parked shut engine off, took my tools down, so it sat for 5; started it back up to go get dinner and that's when it was on

My guess is it's unrelated.

Started up this morning no problem, light was still on.

Will post the scan results around 3:30.

How do I get sync to do the health report?

Running a amp power wire should not effect a check engine light. What grommet did you use. Did you feed it through the engine harness grommet? If so you could of bumped some wires loose

I went through the grommet on the battery side that already has all the electrical going through it.

That could be your problem. 5 inches to the right of the big grommet you went through is a smaller one with no wiring. You should never go through the big one with the wiring harness there. You probably bumped some wiring loose

That's where you should hve went through. I'd recconend putting some RTV around the grommet where you fed the wire through to prevent water intrusion

4 codes came up, the store manager at the ol auto zone (fellow f150 owner) thinks its completely coincidental, the timing that is

Here's word for word the print out:

Definition
Target AF feedback system to rich- left bank probable cause

- rich air/fuel ratio
-EVAP purge system malfunction
- engine mechanical condition
- h02s (heated oxygen sensor) malfunction

:end report

He thought it was just me running lean and recommended just a fuel additive

They think that fuel additive will fix anything. Clear the codes and see what happens. I would also put the battery cable where it belongs.
