Default Amp doesn't always turn on?

I have a 1500 watt Planet Audio amp running my kicker 12. My amp only turns on half the time I start the truck up. Al of the connections in the amp and to the battery are solid and the ground is perfect. Sometimes it turns on only half power, and sometimes when it's off I'll hit a bump while driving and it will turn on for a second. Often when it's not working if I turn the truck off then on, it will turn on for a split second then turn back off.

Anyone know what could be wrong?

Could be a bad connection behind your head unit or a connection inside the amp

I've seen people accidentally wire the remote turn on lead to the remote antenna lead before. So make sure your remote lead is correct. I know for sure on Alpine the solid blue is the antenna lead, while the blue/white is the remote turn on.

I would hard wire the remote wire to the amp to see what the problem is. If it works all the time, then its remote lead. If not, then your remote is fine and need to check ground/power

It's been fine for 2 years, this just started happening. I soldered the wires behind the HU. Worked all day today.

Other than the amp being defective. You only need the 3 power connections for it to turn on, so take a multi-meter to those connections and test. A loose connection or corrosion in those wires could be the culprit.

Check ground. Could be stripped screw for ground.
