I never charged mine. When I went to install it, the stupid little LED thing would never work. I just hooked mine up and called it quits. Turned the truck on and it worked perfectly. I'm not sure that's a required step. I think its one of those "to help the idiots" steps. I wouldn't worry about it.

it may need a recharge if the recharge resistor wont work. you can use a test light. hook up + side hook test light to the - side and car - when the test light fades out it is charged.

All the cap does is keep your lights and crap from dimming on hard hits. I only know this because I didn't have one and my buddy did and his never dimmed.

dont think you cap is working.caps will give you tighter base. it holds power ther when you need it. the out put from a amp at 11.volts to 14.4 volts is half . examp. [ 11v amp out put 125 watts but at 14.4 the out put is 250 watts ]

I never looked into capacitors too much but I have a question for you. Are you saying you can get a capacitor to take in 11 or 12 volts and put out 14.4 volts? I did not know this was possible. I also thought that if you want to go to 14.4 you need to make sure your amp does not regulate power back the lower voltage or that the amp can handle the higher voltage in the first place, No?
