Thanks 12V appreciate that. when sync is hooked up the Text Messages on screen was buggy. calls hands free was also buggy. pairing both at once seemed to be a conflick of which one connected when i entered the truck.
the way the Alpine is set-up which i'm guessing you know works great with-out voice. everything including my favorite contacts radio stations be it pandora xm or FM and usb are two button presses away. what's important is my bluetooth hooks up when i turn the key on.....
the only voice i need is on phone calls-. unless i'm missing something by not having sync.?

Both calls and texts should work flawless so long as the setting in the Alpine was set for OEM for Bluetooth Calling. Would appreciate some idea of what the bugs were/are? I will PM you with email at the office so we can talk off the forum.

The FD1 and the FD2 kits from Alpine are specifically designed for the 4.2" screen and the no screen trucks. XL, XLT some of the higher trim level trucks. Basically if your truck has no screen or the 4.2" screen one of these kits will work 2009-2014
The interface allows for a custom gauge panel and displaying Tire pressure etc. through the CAN interface.

These 2013 & 2014 trucks were SOL when it came to upgrade options. The new control panel redesign necessitated another option. It got too complicated for Advent... backed out, the Metra looked like @$$ so what to do.
Enter Alpine with the FD2 and the new Maestro solution. If you have the small info screen you're in luck now. These are the facts as I understand them. Although I've been wrong before

I don't believe the FD1 will fit those trucks with the 4.2 screen. Only if you have a base equipped unit without it.

FD1 clarification and FD2
Guys
The FD1 is for the basic non-screen trucks the FD2 works on the trucks with the 4.2 inch display up to 2014. The new 2015 truck there is not a solution from Alpine yet for the 4.2" screen.
Hope that helps.
