Default Alpine SWR-823d or JL 6w3v3

i've been trying to decide what sub i wanna run under the seat of my '10 fx2 screw. ive decided to stick with one sub for now, but i will more then likely add another down the road. i think i have it narrowed down to the 8" Alpine SWR-823D or a 6.5" JL 6w3v3. if i go with the alpine, then im gonna build a sealed box because i wouldnt know how to get the dimensions right for the port and all in a size to fit under my seat. the specs call for .15-.5 cu ft and the sealed box im thinking of building would be .357 after counting for speaker displacement. what are your thoughts on that? would you agree thats a good airspace to stick with or what do you recommend?

on the other hand, if i go with the JL 6w3v3, i can build a ported box to spec and fit perfectly under my seat. it would be the exact measurements that JL recommend for the ported box on their site.

before anyone chimes in on subwoofer size, i dont wanna go any bigger then 8" subs. i love the way my 8"s in the past sound and im not looking to wake the neighborhood, i just enjoy some bass. what would you go with?

well to contradict the belief on the 6.5 JL "subs" (more like midbasses) I would go with dual 8" subs if I were you. a single 8 will not get enough sound out unless its one of the one off monsters the competitors use.

I went with a single 10 Memphis mclass in an Atrend sealed box. Fits under the seat great and jave room to spare. It sound way better than I expected for a single 10. I am more than happy with it.

Why do you want to go with 8s amd not 10s

edit sorry I just reread the post. I undetstand. Thats the same reason I went with the single 10. It fits under the seat good and takes up half the room under the back seat. My wife and very nosy daughter have not even noticed it yet. The sound is incredible for a single 10.

so i went ahead and ordered 1 of the alpines for now. i plan on putting it in a ported box, and either adding 1 more later on or go with 3 in sealed boxes
