I have my front camera plugged into the yellow rca (you have to hit av on screen)and it will not come on automatically. Pull the camera out of the tailgate and see if you can locate the hot wire so you don't feed it twice. I believe you have it right just have to find where the camera gets its power from

I've had my camera replaced under warranty in the past. To remove it, you need to break the oval emblem. I know that it's fed by wires other than the two I'm already looking at. If nobody gets back to me over the next couple of days with something definitive, I'll try the black and yellow. I'm 99% sure I won't hurt the camera. With that being said, that could be an expensive 1% I know.

Thanks for the legwork, but that's the opposite end of what I need. I've identified the two wires coming for video coming from the camera. My question is which wires on the display harness do they connect to?

Hook up a rca plug to the ones you believe are video + & - and plug into the rca labeled video in(or av in I don't remember) put truck in revesre and see if camera works. then try switching video + & - , if that doesn't work your going to need power to camera and that's probably that red one, as you said earlier

If you connect to the Universal camera input it should come on when put in reverse.
You have to provide power for the camera.

I really don't want to pull the dash apart to get to the yellow RCA in. There is already power to the OEM camera whenever the truck is powered up.

Should be able to get to rca just by removing to dash pad and reach down

OK...here's the real point of my post. I'm an idiot. Have you ever heard the expression, "You can't see the forest for the trees"? That's where I've been. I was so busy looking at the s-video type plug, that I only saw 1 yellow RCA in the harness. I knew that this was an AV in and that it would need to be manually switched on, so I didn't want to use it. I never once noticed the "Universal Camera" yellow RCA in. Needless to say, I noticed it this morning. Also needless to say even with my dismal soldering skills...it's up and running. I also soldered the leads back on the Rosen camera that I had cut while looking for a solution. Thanks to everybody here who tried to point me in the right direction, even though I was too stubborn to see that you were right.

Glad you got it fixed, I thought that was what you were using
