Thanks for the feedback. Just got home from work not enough time to get mine installed today before we have to go to the carshow tonight. May give it a shot tomorrow. Going to the dealer today to see if I can get the USB cable from them for #2. I get good prices being in the Mustang club they sponsor and beats waiting for it.

Also thinking about adding the actual switch assembly for the blank opening so it has lettering and lights up. Cheap option to make the bezel look symetrical. I know it's nit picking but just a peve of mine that things have to be balanced otherwise it drives me nuts.

Now I am looking for a specific DVD player that is 1/2 din to drop in the console. Tiny thing that will fit anywhere. Pricey though.

Thanks raceman

Compared to what we can get them for on the net, not such a great deal even with my discount.

Will make an order for it. Looks like I am going to do the install in stages so tomorrow I will get the speakers in. Next weekend I will finish it up with the NAV, sub and DVD.

Default New Advent Unit?

Great thread, I just picked up my truck and it seems that most people are unhappy with the Rosen, which really got me looking for other options.
I think I've found video of this Advent unit on youtube.

Has anyone dealt with these guys before or seen one of these in person? Looking at these videos, there seems to be some pretty amazing features.

I did a bit of backtracking from that youtube page and found the product page here: http://www.adcmobile.com/category/na...2009-13-f-150/

Can't tell if they sell them or just represent them. I'll see what I can find out today.

From what I see this unit kicks the crap out of Rosen.

Thanks, I found that as well and scoured the website but couldn't find anything. I should have money coming in again soon so maybe when its available I will have the expendable resources to purchase. I sent an email to the company and will let you guys know if I get anything back from them.

Yea it should its a complete new head unit, and Ill bet 3 times the cost. If you going to pay that much why not go with a name brand?

Default Rosen to factory OEM Nav unit

After returning my Rosen Nav unit, I decided to go with a genuine Ford Navigation unit.
Contrary to what the dealership will tell you, yes, it does work. I ended up buying mine off eBay. Yes, it a little on the expensive side, but it was plug and play and 100% compatible. My sync, steering controls, Sirius XM and bluetooth are perfect, just as though it came with the truck.
You gain navigation, HD radio, DVD player, backup cam capable, weather reports, RDS and a jukebox. You put your cd in, tell it to record and it rips it to the internal hard drive.
I am very happy with this unit. It came with everything you need to hook it up. Plus you don’t have to take your air bag out like the Rosen to install it.
Here is the auction on eBay, plus I posted a picture of it installed in my truck.
And by the way, the display that showed the song title / station / clock etc still works. You even set the time to it from the Nav screen.
