Install was simple. Check Post #86. I tried a number of ways to mount the tweeters, but what I ended up doing was putting some gorilla tape around the edge of the door panel where the tweeter mounts. That made it really tight and I just squeezed the tweeter in the hole and tilted it and messed with it until I got it where it sounded the best for me sitting in the driver seat. If I used any of the install cups, I would have either had to cut the panel and flush mount or really hack up some stuff. I've pulled the panel a couple times to check on the tweeter and it still hasn't moved a bit. The crossover is small enough to fit under the power window switches also.

I had plans to amp them, but they sound so good on deck power that I'm not sure now.

Thinking about adding these...

Would you recommend them and would the fit?

You need a .75" tweeter if you're going to put them in the factory A pillars. If your putting them on the sail panel the 1" will work just fine.

Lance how do those sound? I just replaced all 4 speakers with some Polk DB571's but for the front I'm thinking I want to switch to component speakers because i had the audiophile system and I'm missing some of those high frequency sounds.

What are some recommendations? not looking to break the bank

oh and did you just dremel out the tweeter hole a little bit to get it to fit?

thanks

Has there been a pair of speakers that everyone agrees is the best for the money?

The sound great! They have good bass and also get the high frequency sounds quite well… mine are kickers which were only $150. I did dremel out to get the tweeter to fit not much. I just have regular speaker kickers in the back.

I don't think anyone agrees one best. Polk db571 and Infinity are popular.
