depends how much you want to spend, I just ordered a pack of 9 sheets from amazon for $150 and i was able to do 3 doors (both the exterior and interior panel) and the entire panel behind the back seat. So one pack (36sq ft) would be plenty to do both inner and outer door panel

Ok FredB, I'm trying to understand this. Are you saying to put the plastic sheet on or saying to remove it entirely and put the sound deadener where the sheet used to be? Sorry to be a jack***. I'm going to be doing mine in the next week and I don't want to regret not doing the right thing.

Thnx much.

remove the plastic sheet before you install, put on the dynamat, then put the plastic sheet back when you are done, then put the door panel back on.

I was going by what was under the door on this video. No I would never do what he did with the speaker mount but I though that's all the plastic that was there. Covering the interior of the door panel shown at 1:22 in the video below.

So you are saying there is a larger sheet...

They go over that pretty quick but I think you are overthinking it. Once you take the actual door panel off, there should be a clear plastic sheet, held on by adhesive that you can scrape off the door (keep the adhesive on the clear plastic sheet and not the door)

once that is taken off, it will be down to just the wires and a bare door. put your dynamat on the outside panel (if you want) or dynamat the middle door panel, cut all the holes for the door panel to fit back on. then reinstall the clear plastic sheet. just push on the adhesive and it will re-stick to the door, reinstall the door panel and you should be good to go

Does this make sense? I think once you open up your door you will understand, i get nervous sometimes too with everyone telling you different things

Cool! You will be amazed at the difference! I forgot to add that a putty knife or something similar works great to peel the adhesive off the door but still leaving it on the plastic sheet.
